We Were Poor - Royle Sat 22nd Feb 2003 19:06

Town 2-2 Grimsby Sat 22nd Feb 2003 18:06
Two goals from Darren Bent saved a woeful Town from defeat against lowly Grimsby. An early goal from Paul Groves, which appeared not to cross the line, gave the Mariners the lead before Bent equalised with a header. A James Pullen howler gave Michael Boulding a goal but Bent hit back again late on.

Newcastle 2-2 Town Sat 16th Mar 2002 18:22
An Alan Shearer penalty in time beyond the three minutes added on by referee Mike Riley threatened to give all the points to Newcastle from an exciting game at St James' Park. Fortunately for Town, Shearer put his kick wide of the post and a point was the least Town deserved after a battling display had twice seen them ahead through Marcus Bent. That the penalty had been awarded for an obvious dive by Clarence Acuna would have added extra salt to the wound, had Shearer scored.
